Privacy Policy

Who we are

AnglerTrove publishes digital fly-fishing guides and reference material. It is operated by an independent sole proprietor based in the Philippines. You can reach us at [email protected], which is also the address for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

We keep this deliberately small. We collect:

• Your email address: given at checkout so we can deliver your files and send your receipt, and separately if you choose to join our mailing list.
• Your name: only if our payment provider passes it to us with the order.
• Order and transaction references: what you bought, the amount, the currency, and the order identifier our payment provider gives us.
• Download activity: how many times your download link has been used, and when it expires, so we can enforce the limits described in our Terms and re-issue a link if yours stops working.
• Campaign attribution: if you arrive from one of our email campaigns, the campaign parameters in that link are stored in your browser session so we know which campaign led to a sale.
• Technical information: standard web server logs including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security, troubleshooting and fraud prevention.
• Anything you send us: the content of emails you send to our support address.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we never see or store your card details. See Payments below.

Why we process it

• To take payment and deliver the product you bought.
• To send you a receipt and your download instructions.
• To answer your questions when you contact us.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, including limiting how often a download link can be used.
• To understand which campaigns and pages lead to sales, in aggregate.
• To send marketing email, only if you have opted in.
• To meet our tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

Payments

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as our Merchant of Record. Your card details are entered on their systems. AnglerTrove never receives, processes or stores your card number. What we receive is confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with your email address, the amount, and an order reference.

Because Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record, they also calculate and remit any sales tax or VAT due on your purchase, and their own privacy policy covers how they handle your information.

Who else we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to operate, and only so far as each needs it:

• Lemon Squeezy: payment processing and tax, as Merchant of Record.
• EmailOctopus: our marketing email platform, if you have opted in.
• Google Workspace: our business email, so support messages and receipts pass through it.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers: who store the site and its database on our behalf.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

Email

Transactional email, such as your receipt and download link, is sent because you bought something and cannot be opted out of. Marketing email is separate: we only send it if you opted in, every message carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect emails about a purchase you have made.

Analytics

We record a small number of events about how the site is used, such as which page was viewed and whether a checkout was started, so we can improve it. These are held in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not pass payment details or the contents of your order into analytics.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function, such as keeping your session secure while you check out and remembering which campaign brought you here. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. Download links expire on their own schedule. Marketing email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond.

AnglerTrove is operated from the Philippines, and our handling of personal information is subject to the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. If you believe we have handled your information incorrectly, contact us first and we will try to put it right.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, purchased files are never publicly accessible and are served only through expiring, limited-use links, and card details never reach our systems. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not claim to, but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small so there is less at risk.

Children

AnglerTrove is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
