Before You Start
Questions, answered
Is the test free?
Yes. Taking it, finishing it and seeing your summary are all free, and there is nothing to sign up for. The detailed report at the end is a one-time $2.99 purchase. There is no subscription.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. You can take the whole test without either. An email address is only involved if you choose to buy the full report, and then it is used to send you the link to it. Buying a report does not sign you up for anything else.
How hard is it?
It ranges. Some questions are things most Colorado anglers know; others are the decisions that separate a good day from a blank one. Nobody is expected to get all 20.
Does it tell me where to fish today?
No. This is a knowledge test, not a conditions service. It carries no live flows, no current river reports and no fishing recommendations. Always check current conditions and regulations yourself before you fish.
Is this an official certification?
No. It is educational and recreational. AnglerTrove is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife or any government agency, and no result here is a licence, a certification or a guide qualification.
Can I take it more than once?
Yes, as many times as you like. Each attempt is scored on its own. A report you have unlocked stays available at its own link.
